we invite everyone, young and old,
to listen, understand and grow in empathy,
to come together as kin everywhere.
About the author
Rachel has been in development and humanitarian work for more than 10 years. In the last decade, she has spent time with families and children in difficult circumstances in countries spanning Haiti, Ethiopia, India, the Philippines, Vietnam and more. Each time she returns from the field, she comes back broken but fuller. Telling the stories of those she met in the field to family and friends was always a powerful experience - most of all, in bringing people who’d never met or known each other, together.
With real stories told through simple children’s books, she hopes to encourage families and children to grow in empathy for those around them in different circumstances as they grow in global perspective and hopefully, to embark on their own personal journeys to reach out to those who struggle.
